Sometimes it's hard to see what you're doing till you've done it. This painting emerged out of a doodle - using up left-over paint. The moon overseas some kind of journey, on which people are variously resting, worshipping and in despair. Around them cattle and wildfowl go about their lives. The river flows past. Trees, like sycamore leaves, spread themselves translucently against the moonlight. No stranger than real life. |
