Spring 2022:
an art-for-charity exhibition at Bedford Pavilion cafe in Bedford Park
This small art-for-charity exhibition will be displayed at the Pavilion cafe in Bedford park throughout April 2022.
Any sales will raise money for the King’s Arms Project. Some recent paintings celebrate spring arriving in Bedford in 2022 (Click on the button at the bottom of this page to see more recent paintings). Other images reflect spring rituals such as Holi - the spring festival of colour. I acknowledge my debt to the Canadian artist, Daniel Barkley. danielbarkley.com/index.php?action=view_gallery&id=2&module=imagegallerymodule&src=%40random519d83876b0ac Spring is a time of revival and joy. The festival of Holi celebrates the return of colour after the bleakness of winter. But this spring has also been a time of resistance and loss. I have tried to come to terms with my contradictory feelings through water and colour.
