Glass half full

Challenge no. 2: Still life with pen and ink.

I'm lucky. My friends have set me a daily drawing challenge. I don't have to decide what to do - just how to do it.

The jug was my mum's. The glass tankard came from Poundland. The book was 'The poem and the journey' by Ruth Padel, 2007.

I liked the way the orange book cover was refracted through the water and the glass. I was trying to be optimistic, so I've called it 'glass half full.'

After drawing and painting, I loaded an old toothbrush with black paint and flicked the bristles. But I think I've been too tentative.
