Harpur Square, today, just starting to drizzle. I sat down to sketch because I liked the plane trees with their spherical seed-pods. But sitting far enough back to catch the context - the view north up Harpur Street - the seed-pods disappeared in the bigger picture. Rain stopped play. The honey-coloured old school is ahead of me, with B&M beyond. On the right is the library, then Beales (as was) and then Clintons on the corner. Out of view, to my left, is the meeting sculpture. People come and go. |
