The wind blew away the clouds and then, just when the sun came out and I began planting potatoes, I was spattered by a squall of hail crystals. Despite the sun, the iced wind bit. I studied the clouds as they massed and bundled East across a bright blue sky. Moving targets. I tried in watercolour and pencil without much success. Then I went home and fussed with acrylics for a while. Finally, I returned to one of Mike Svob's Youtube videos on 'edges'. I didn't follow his method entirely, but I worked quickly, as he recommended - and resisted 'overworking' things. So, it's a bit crude and blocky, but it does catch a little of today's weather. |
