I sat on the mound at the side of Cardington Road and looked down Fenlake Road today. Apparently, this mound is part of what was left when the railway line to Sandy was demolished. Someone has sculpted their hedge into an impressive piece of topiary. The houses are painted pistachio green, apricot, blueberry, strawberry - and red-brick. From what I observed, it seems to be a good place to park up and chat confidentially. I was careful not to sit on an anthill, and I sat in the mallow and long grass and painted happily for a couple of hours. When I got up my legs had gone dead. I had to stumble about a bit until I could bike home. |
