More of the snowy gardens at 2 am in the morning. I sketched in pencil first and then tried watercolour on thicker Arteza paper.
At 2 am there's not much colour visible in the grey murk - despite the snow. But I could discern mauve on the horizon and some ochre-ish fences and shrubs. The evergreen tree on the right held the deepest bluest shadow.
This was painted using a Number 10 flat, square-headed brush. It's good for establishing directions and sculpting facets. I could use a 'rigger' brush to pick out detail - but I do like the 'blocky' crudeness of this stage.
