Well, this is something a bit different. A cartoon of a writing friend who suffered a rib-cracking trip on an uneven paving slab in Cambridge. Subsequently we visited Mildenhall St Mary's church to see the flock of wooden angels and associated carvings - dragons, dogs, swans, crabs and wyverns - with and without reticulated head-dresses. Enough context to join the dots. Afterwards, with our writing guru, we spent an intense and hilarious afternoon eating fish and chips and chatting in the Bell Hotel. This belongs with my illustrations and commissions - refreshing changes from too much hawthorn blossom. |
