This morning: a tree in blossom, clouds racing, postman plodding, planks piled up in a drive, a motor-home, telephone wires. It's the kind of subject for any urban sketcher, I guess. I did sketch with the urban sketchers in London five years ago, and there's a Bedford group too - I met them one wet day in the library about a month ago. This afternoon I found another blossoming tree in Goldington Avenue, but the Edwardian house behind it defeated me. Tomorrow I will go in search of more blossom. I'm compiling a second Alphasketch - an A-Z of Bedford streets. So far I have C, D, F, G, H, K, N, P, Q, R, S - only 15 more letters to 'collect'. |
