Bromham Road today, from the mouth of West Grove. An unusual half-timbered house on the right with staggered windows; on the left, around the bend the new houses on King George Avenue, opposite Biddenham Turn. A man walking a dog stopped to look at what I was up to. He thought it wasn't bad but that I would have been better painting in Priory Country Park where the views were really beautiful. What I was trying to catch was the vista around the bend and the shadows cast by chestnut trees in contrast to the bold face of the house facing in towards the town. Not everyone likes the same thing. |
