The allotment has needed a lot of attention, so I haven't painted for a few days. Today's unfinished one-hour sketch is of the riverside path behind Priory Country Park - this is just a detail. Hawthorn blossom spills in blobs from the hedgerow and cow parsley laces the lush green grass. The path is only just visible beneath trays of foliage which loom and darken as the sun comes and goes. I am busy preparing and practising for an outdoor art competition which takes place at the beginning of June. I'll try and post daily from now on. My next exhibitions will be at the Higgins and at the Bedford Park Pavilion in September and November. |
