This morning was bright, breezy and blissful. Fragrance of first blossom, bees bumbling, runs of birdsong like motifs in the trees. I biked up to the construction site after lunch where this guy was busy measuring distances and angles with his theodolite. Elsewhere concrete was being poured over wire mesh for the hard-standing. If only everything was obedient to a regular physical scale. But it isn't. In the afternoon there was more bad news of illness in the family and it was all I could do to get this guy and his tripod to stand up at all when I painted. This isolation does my head in. I have been in touch with the King's Arms Project fund-raising team and hope to have news of an exhibition before long. |
