The path between Brecon Way and Pax Hill this afternoon. Sharp sunlight - but turning chilly as soon as the sun went down. Although I started with the darks, scribbled loosely, and worked as quickly as possible, this is still a less vibrant rendering of autumn colours than I'd intended. A green bush overhangs the fence; a red-leafed tree competes with the golden chestnut behind. The sky was far bluer, but my paint had run out. While I painted (4:30 - 5:30), the shadow of the red-leafed tree moved from left to right of the chestnut trunk. Cars passed along Brecon Way, just visible at the end of the path. People came and went. |
