Reeds at the edge of a lake in the nature reserve just beyond Priory Country Park, Bedford. I picked the head off a dandelion and tossed it in. The ripples moved outwards. The still surface of the lake reflects the clouds, except on the far side where a gust of breeze has ruffled the water. The sky appears upside down. A wide expanse caught in this small space. And a small object can make a big difference, introducing circles amidst the vertical reeds and under the flat horizon. That's what I thought when I painted. |
