Bank holiday Monday in Bedford park. A family were playing under these pines. It's the end of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr prayers had taken place in the open air, so the park was full of people. After I'd taken down my exhibition at the Pavilion cafe, I sat in the shadows and sketched. Sometimes I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing, but despite being tired, I was still motivated to sketch the leaning effects of the prevailing wind - even more distorted by my poor photography. There was some blue sky when I started, but then it clouded over. In the afternoon, I hoed, watered, planted beans and cut grass on the allotments. |
