A terrible - and possibly tasteless - joke, I know, but here I am at a tern (sic) in the road, and this is a view downhill towards Bedford park - so you can work out where I was with a map. The clouds raced right to left, but it was warm enough on the verge beneath this thorn tree. I liked the much-repaired road, the posts and wires, and the considerate one-sided parking. A woman walking a Spanish mastiff passed me twice. I was glad the dog was on the lead: it was huge. 8 stone, she said. Tomorrow I shall revisit the warehouse on Manton Lane and sketch again - this time from the inside (cf Construction series). On Wednesday I shall exhibit an alphabet of sketches at the Pavilion cafe in Bedford park. This might be one of them. |
