Midsummer moon sliding behind birch and apple trees in the garden , 9:30-10 p.m. 4B and HB. To be honest, as night drew on, I could barely discern distinctions of shade - scarcely in the trees and hardly at all on my paper. But night-drawing is a thing, so I thought I should try. I had to work quickly because the brightening moon was determined to turn everything to silhouette. Today was a day of difficulty, heart-stopping fears alleviated only by kindness and sardonic humour. So covering a bleached page with lead seemed appropriate. Full and 'honey' moon tomorrow, 24 June. :) |
