Half an hour's sketching at noon today on Rowallan Drive: the warehouse is that four-humped block on the horizon - on the left. It's visible from afar because of its hilltop position. I did try to apply what I learnt from yesterday: study carefully and then work quickly. It's a question of the right mix of alizarin, ultramarine and burnt umber - and then the right amount of water - and then to be deft. I worked back to front, so the foreground figures came last, but I didn't have time to add the car's shadow. Practice, practice, practice. |
