Bedford swans on the River Great Ouse. It's a puzzle to see which head is attached to which body. Especially since, in at least one case, the head is underwater. Shapes and colours slide. I am trying to capture the shock of the brilliant white hydra-headed abstract mass - and a duck bravely caught amongst them, equally anxious for some bread. Top right two terns, less familiar with swans perhaps, are keeping their distance. Swan, tern or duck? It's a verbal choice. |
