A beautiful spring day in Bedford park. Here's a view past the daffodils and the football pitch to the cafe. My art-for-charity exhibition, 'Spring', will be at the cafe again throughout April. Spring. My dilemma is, what to show without a cliche? Last year I showed 'Alphasketch', but I sold only 2 out of 26 to Bedfordians. They preferred trees to houses. Perhaps that's understandable - pictures of the natural world might bring more peace and comfort. I have to accommodate their tastes if I want to fund-raise for charity. Few people will pay for disturbance. But this springtime, I feel the earth is moving, things are rising - and not all in a good way. I want to use the opportunity to start conversations rather than make statements. |
