Bread line? Food bank? Grace under pressure. I don't know. Here is some of the wildlife from yesterday's photos. The swans (and a brave duck) came for the food that a family were throwing to them. The swans' whiteness is remarkable. Compared to which the duck almost disappears amongst the ripples. Whatever the surface pattern of the water, unlike more camouflaged birds, the swans stand out. The adult swans seem to maintain a constant brightness, even glowing blue-green in the shade of the willows. They cannot hide except among the reeds. There must be a good 200 of them on Bedford's river and lakes. |
