90 minute sketch in Beresford Road: ink and watercolour. The sunlight was bouncing off the whitewashed walls when I passed, so I stopped. The cul-de-sac is a mixture of gabled, brick-built and mock Tudor half-timbered houses - including one with a cantilevered first floor. There are houses with solar panels as well as some with scaffolding where renovations are taking place. It's busy: cars were continually turning in front of where I sat - in fact, the red car in the foreground arrived as I sketched and was then moved into a drive on the left. Delivery vehicles were constantly arriving and departing. So I had to keep things loose. And liked the wires. |
